Fellowship Projects: Augment Programs
Imani worked with Latino U College Access (LUCA) as a College Prep Program Fellow where she supported the Class of 2023 with the college application process.
During Fall 2020, Antolina worked as the High School Program fellow with South Bronx United, where she assisted in planning and facilitating academic lessons. She also conducted school outreach and academic data collection.
Deanna developed a strategic communications plan for Jewels Academy to advertise their upcoming fundraiser and increase social media engagement around a new program developed with the University of Iowa Jacobson Institute BizInnovator curriculum.
Over the Summer, Jazmine worked with South Bronx United to implement, support and augment various projects for the 2021 Summer Soccer Scholars program.
During Fall 2019, Dr. Ian Flatt worked to create a partnership between Drake University and Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa to focus on their music program.
During Fall 2019, Roslyn worked with YSS to develop a section of YSS's website to have information about creating Teens Against Human Trafficking teams accessible online.
During Fall 2019, Kai Joy worked with 826CHI, focusing on teen and volunteer outreach. She identified how to expand volunteer outreach efforts and interviewed teens to learn how to focus 826CHI's teen recruiting efforts.
During Fall 2019, Paola worked with Fiver Children’s Foundation focusing on revamping their College Access program.
During Summer 2019, Sabrina worked with Fiver Children’s Foundation at Camp Fiver as a Character Education Specialist. She enhanced and facilitated programming on helping Fiver participants understand Fiver’s values and attributes and how to apply it to their everyday life.
During Summer 2019, Madeline focused on volunteer recruitment with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa.
During Summer 2019, Danny worked to create a foundation for YSS University by gathering information about current training opportunities, organizing the data, and developing materials to better present these opportunities to staff.
During Summer 2019, Dakari worked as a program evaluator and program facilitator with Territory NFP.
During Summer 2019, Mabel Munoz worked with Fiver Children’s Foundation at Camp Fiver as a Literacy Specialist. She enhanced and facilitated literacy programming
During Summer 2019, Linh worked to support Variety - the Children’s Charity’s mobility program by identifying areas of improvement, locating recipients for bikes for a special fundraiser, and assisting with the different steps of the mobility program over the summer.
During Fall 2018, Paola worked with IRCO to develop additional Global Cooking Class curricula and identifying areas of improvement in the Fresh Food Pantries.
Clare worked with Fiver Children’s Foundation to improve program outreach efforts during Fall 2018
During Fall 2018, Brianne worked as a Curriculum Development Fellow, which involved surveying youth and researching best practices to create improvements to two youth programs, Iowa Youth Congress and State Advisory Council of Iowa.
During Summer 2018, Asalia worked with Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland to enhance their teen leadership program, Youth of the Year, by developing interactive workshops based on the needs of the teens.
Erick worked with Fiver Children’s Foundation at Camp Fiver with their High School Prep program. He developed and implemented curriculum to help rising eighth graders with the New York high school application process and to help rising ninth graders with their transition into high school.
During Summer 2018, Teilor worked with Fiver Children’s Foundation to update and implement their curriculum for the College Access and Transition Program, which aims to prepare Fiver youth for life after they graduate high school.
During Summer 2018, Josh worked with Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa to develop a framework for a mentoring program through partnerships with local universities, a sports clinic, and an assessment tool for their health program.
During Fall 2017, Jarlisa worked to assess, improve, and expand a teen leadership and civic engagement recognition program.
During Summer 2017, Elliott focused on raising health awareness at Camp Fiver by developing a healthy eating curriculum.
Casie’s work focused on environmental sustainability primarily by developing a gardening and composting program for Camp Fiver during Summer 2017.
During Summer 2017, Clarissa worked to develop a student engagement component for YSS and IHYC’s Post-Secondary Education Retention Program. The goal was to make community involvement more accessible to working students.
During Summer 2017, Joie focused on measuring and enhancing Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa’s health and wellness program called Triple Play.
Kathlyn worked as a Feeding the Future Project Fellow at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa where she expanded the food pantries to all 8 club locations in the Greater Des Moines area.
