Summary
Rachel developed, administered and analyzed a social-emotional learning (SEL) assessment for first and second grade members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland (BGCP). The goal of the assessment is to measure the impact BGCP has on the social-emotional development of its youngest members. This information can be used to shape future program development.

Implemented and analyzed a social emotional learning assessment for 6 - 8 year olds
Researched best practices for surveying the population and social-emotional indicators for the group
Identified both the method and content for the survey
Reviewed the resulting data
Made sure the survey is both valid and reliable so that it can be used into perpetuity
Administered assessment to 116 5-8 year olds
Reviewed the data to measure the organizations’ impact
Impact
116 youth were surveyed and assessment will impact approximately 450 youth each year
