SUMMARY
Emma worked as a Social Media fellow at Almost Fun where she helped develop a strategic social media and outreach plan to increase organizational visibility as well as grow their student and teacher following community online.
OVERVIEW
Developed and presented two competitive analyses to report on what other EdTech companies are doing to engage students and teachers on social media
Created an engagement strategy by brainstorming creative approaches for call-to-actions, hashtags, and response to concerns from users
Designed a content plan that will include identifying content pillars, frequency of posts, and distribution channels
Participated and led weekly team discussions on current issues in education and math learning
IMPACT
Almost Fun supports over 1.5 million middle and high school students every year. About 65% of their students are low-income and 70% are students of color. On Twitter alone, Almost Fun reached over 300 new accounts and are steadily growing their following of math influencers, educators, schools, and families. In the last month of the project, their Twitter following grew over 56% compared to the start of the Fellowship.
