SUMMARY
This Summer, Kayla spearheaded the Trauma-Informed Care Initiative project at Youth and Shelter Services, Inc. (YSS) to promote healing and recovery by acknowledging the role trauma may play in an individual’s life. Kayla helped develop an action plan for YSS to become a trauma-informed agency by conducting research on trauma-informed care, identifying the organization’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as providing recommendations to enhance trauma-informed care within YSS.
