FUTURE LEADERS IN ACTION ANNOUNCES FALL 2022 PARTNERS
Future Leaders in Action is thrilled to announce their five Fall 2022 partners. In New York City, they will work with three new partners Start Lighthouse, Road to Uni, and Navigate the Maze to Achievement. In Des Moines, they will continue partnerships with Can Play and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Iowa.
Future Leaders in Action is eager to place talented fellows to work with partners on projects that together will impact over 13,000 youth.
The fall fellows will expand the capacities of both new and long-standing nonprofit organizations.
On why a FLIA fellow will make a difference for Can Play, Dylan DeClerck, Co-founder and Executive Director shared,
“Can Play is seeking a fellow because we value the experiences and expertise of someone who could have been in our participant’s shoes. We believe that our organization designs more effective programs when we include diverse perspectives all throughout the programming process from design to delivery. In addition, [FLIA’s mission] aligns well with our organization’s mission and goal to provide development opportunities for those who come from low-socioeconomic and at-risk backgrounds.”
For Start Lighthouse, Co-founder and Executive Director, Rina Madhani says a FLIA fellow “will be a wonderful resource for us as we're an early stage literacy nonprofit organization with a staff of three. We are looking to be able to serve as many students as we can in the South Bronx.”
Even for a well-established organization like the Boys and Girls Club of Central Iowa (BGCCI), who FLIA partnered with this summer to establish key components of their Feeding the Future project, the bandwidth fellows offer is much needed. “We would absolutely love to continue this partnership into the fall season. [Our summer fellow] Kathlyn has done a great job fulfilling this need in our organization and we would love to continue working towards this goal.” Jessica Louis, Volunteer & Club Support Coordinator for BGCCI shared.
“Our fall fellows are sure to make a difference in the lives of the youth that our dedicated partners serve. Future Leaders in Action couldn’t be prouder to support partners who are helping to address some of the most important issues facing youth today,” said Milly Seraus-Roache, Executive Director of Future Leaders in Action.
