I arrived on campus for my first day on the job working with Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe (BGCNLT); the Club is attached to a local elementary school in Kings Beach, California. I got out of the car and looked around – standing in front of me, I saw a sea of blue and white.

As a Business Management student at Brigham Young University, a job as a nonprofit fellow has been a much-needed change of course. This fellowship was the perfect balance of planning, implementation, evaluation, and assessment; however, my favorite parts were the interactions I had with the kids.

Last weekend, we held our 2016 Summer Fellowship Retreat in Portland, Oregon. Fellows had the opportunity to meet their peers from around the country, pitch their projects to one another, and collaborate on possible solutions to challenges faced.
